Who this is for: This article is for approvers (admins and group owners) who need to review and approve or reject pending Reap Card and payment (bill pay) requests from the Reap mobile app.
What this article covers: How to review and act on pending Reap Card and payment (bill pay) requests from the Reap mobile app.
Overview
You can now review and act on pending approval requests directly in the Reap mobile app: both Reap Card requests and payment (bill pay) requests. Approve or reject in a couple of taps, without opening the web app in a mobile browser.
You'll only see the Approvals section if you're designated as an approver in your entity's approval policies.

Finding your pending approvals
Use this to: see everything waiting on your action in one place.
Open the Reap app and tap Approvals in the bottom navigation. A badge shows how many requests need your action. Within Approvals, switch between the Payments and Cards tabs.
Each item shows enough context to act without opening it: request type, requester, amount (for payments), and the due date.
The Approvals tab lists every pending request that needs your action.
Reviewing a card request
Use this to: check what a card request is for before you approve it.
Tap a card request to see the full details: card title, card owner, requested spend limit (weekly and monthly), card type (e.g. virtual, recurring), category, who requested it, and the required approvers.
The card request detail shows the requested limits, card type, and approvers.
Reviewing a payment request
Use this to: verify a bill pay before releasing funds.
Tap a payment request to see the recipient, the amount (both what the recipient gets and what you pay, including fees and exchange rate), payment method, payment description, supporting documents, payment ID, and the due date.
The payment request detail shows the full amount breakdown and supporting documents.
Approving a request
Use this to: approve a request so it moves to the next step.
Tap Approve, then confirm in the dialog. The approval is reflected in the web app immediately, with no sync delay.
Confirm to approve. This action can't be undone.
Note: Approving can't be undone.
Rejecting a request
Use this to: reject a request that shouldn't move forward.
Tap Reject. An optional comment field appears; leave a note if you want, or skip it. Then confirm. Once rejected, the request is removed from your pending list.
A comment is optional when rejecting.
Note: Rejecting can't be undone.
When a request shows as expired
Use this to: understand why you sometimes can't approve a payment.
Payment quotes have a deadline (shown as the Due time, e.g. 1PM HKT). If a quote expires before you act on it, or the card used to create the payment has expired, the request automatically shows as Expired and can't be approved or rejected. You'll see a banner explaining why.
When this happens, the requester needs to recreate the request with a fresh quote.
Expired requests show a banner and can't be approved or rejected.
What you can't do on mobile yet
To set expectations, a few things still live on the web app:
| Action | Where to do it |
| Get notified of new requests | Open the app and check the Approvals tab; push notifications aren't available |
| Approve from an email link | Approval emails currently open the web app; to act on mobile, open the Reap app and go to Approvals |
| Set up or change approval policies | Web app only |
| Review approval history | The mobile app shows pending requests only; use the web app for history |
Frequently Asked Questions
I approved on mobile but I don't see it on the web app.
Both surfaces use the same system, so there's no sync delay. This is almost always a browser caching issue; refresh the web app page and it'll appear.
Can I set up approval policies from the app?
No. Creating and editing approval policies stays on the web app. The mobile app is for acting on approvals, not configuring them.
I don't see an Approvals section in the app.
You'll only see Approvals if you're designated as an approver in your entity's approval policies. If you're not an approver, this section won't appear.
I tapped the link in an approval email and it opened the web app, not the mobile app.
Approval emails currently link to the web app. To act on the request from your phone instead, open the Reap app and go to the Approvals tab.
Why can't I act on this request? It says "Expired".
The payment quote (or the card used to create the payment) has expired. Once that happens, the request automatically shows as Expired and can no longer be approved or rejected. The requester will need to recreate the request with a new quote.
Something doesn't look right?
If a request isn't behaving as you expect:
- Pull down on the Approvals list to refresh and make sure you're seeing the latest status.
- Check whether the request shows as Expired. If so, the requester needs to recreate it.
- If you acted on a request but it still shows on the web app, refresh the web app page.
Still stuck? Contact Reap Support with the requester's name, the request type (card or payment), and the amount or payment ID so we can investigate faster. For more information, visit Know who to talk to at Reap.
