Understanding your Treasury balances
Treasury organizes your funds into three distinct balances. Each one serves a different purpose within your Reap account.
Balance |
What it does |
| Card | Holds collateral that backs your Reap Card credit limit. Depositing here increases the amount your team can spend on their cards. Only stablecoins (USDC, USDT) can be used to fund or move this balance — fiat isn't supported for Card. |
| Payments | Funds available for making payments — bill payments, vendor transfers, and other outgoing transactions via Payments. |
| General | A flexible holding account for unallocated funds. Park money here, then move it to Card or Reap Pay when you're ready. |
Need to fund one of these balances for the first time? See How to add funds to your Reap Account? for stablecoin and fiat deposit instructions, minimums, and processing times.
Transferring funds between balances
Once your Treasury has a balance, you can redistribute funds across Card, Payments, and General without making an external deposit. This is useful when you want to move unallocated funds from General into Card to increase your credit limit, or top up Payments from your General balance.
- Go to Treasury in the left-hand sidebar.
- Click the Move Funds button in the top-right corner. (This button becomes active once you have a balance in at least one account.)
-
Select the source balance (where funds are coming from) and the destination balance (where they should go). The following transfer directions are supported:
From
To
Card Payments General Optimize* Payments Card General Optimize* General Card Payments Optimize* *Optimize is a geofenced product — available only to entities incorporated in an eligible country (currently around 51). If Optimize doesn't appear as a destination, contact our support team to confirm your entity's eligibility.
- Enter the amount and confirm the move.
💡 The Move Funds button is greyed out when all balances are at zero. Add funds to at least one balance first. Discover how to add funds from How to Add Funds to your Reap Account
Moving Stablecoins out of Reap Card Collateral
You can now move eligible stablecoins out of Card collateral into General, Payments, or Optimize. This is an internal balance re-allocation — it doesn't trigger an on-chain or external transfer, and moving funds into Card collateral works the same way it always has. Card collateral only ever holds stablecoins — fiat currency can't be moved to or from Card.
Supported assets: USDC or USDT when moving to General or Payments. Only USDC is supported when moving to Optimize — it's automatically converted to USYC once inside Optimize.
🌍 Moving to Optimize is only available to entities incorporated in one of Reap's eligible countries (currently around 51 countries of incorporation). If Optimize doesn't appear as a destination option, your entity's country of incorporation may not yet be eligible — contact our support team to confirm.
- From the Move Funds flow, select Card as the source and General, Payments, or Optimize (if your entity is eligible) as the destination.
- Choose the asset to move. General and Payments accept USDC or USDT; Optimize only accepts USDC.
- Review the quote. It shows your current available card credit, selected asset balance, FX rate, the maximum amount you can move, and your new credit limit and available balance after the transfer. The maximum moveable amount is the lower of your asset balance or your available card credit converted at the current FX rate.
- Confirm the amount. Before you confirm, you'll see a warning that moving funds will reduce your card spending power.
⚠️ Moving funds out of Card collateral reduces your Reap Card credit limit and available balance immediately, since your credit line is backed by this balance.
Card transactions always take priority. If a card transaction changes your available collateral while the transfer is processing, the transfer may fail — you'll be asked to refresh and retry with an updated quote.
There's no fee for moving stablecoins out of Card collateral. A minimum transfer amount of 0.01 USDC/USDT applies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I move funds from Card back to General?
Yes. You can now move eligible stablecoins (USDC or USDT) out of Card collateral into General or Payments using the same Move Funds flow. Doing so reduces your available card credit limit accordingly.
Does moving funds from Card affect my credit limit?
Yes. Your Reap Card credit limit is backed by your Card balance. Moving funds out of Card will reduce your available credit limit accordingly.
Is moving funds out of Card collateral an external transfer?
No. It's an internal balance re-allocation between your Reap balances. It doesn't trigger an on-chain withdrawal or external transfer.
Which assets can I move out of Card collateral?
USDC and USDT when moving to General or Payments. Only USDC is supported when moving to Optimize — it's converted to USYC once inside Optimize.
Can I move funds from Card collateral into Optimize?
Yes, if your entity is eligible. Optimize is geofenced to entities incorporated in a supported country (currently around 51 countries of incorporation). Only USDC can be moved to Optimize, and it converts to USYC as part of the Optimize flow. To reverse it, redeem USYC → USDC from within Optimize, then transfer the funds as usual.
Why don't I see Optimize as a destination when moving funds out of Card?
Optimize is currently limited to entities incorporated in eligible countries. If it's missing from your Move Funds flow, your entity's country of incorporation may not yet be supported — contact our support team to confirm eligibility.
Can I use fiat currency to fund or move Card collateral?
No. Card collateral only supports stablecoins (USDC and USDT). Fiat currency can't be used to fund Card, or moved to or from it.
Can I move my full Card collateral balance out?
Not always. The maximum moveable amount depends on your selected asset balance, your available card credit, the FX rate, and any pending card authorisations or outstanding obligations.
What happens if a card transaction happens while I'm moving funds out of Card?
Card transactions always take priority. If a transaction changes your available collateral while the transfer is processing, the transfer may fail and you'll need to refresh and retry with an updated quote.
Are there fees for moving funds out of Card collateral?
No. There's no fee for this transfer type.
Is there a minimum for internal fund movements?
Yes. A minimum of 0.01 USDC/USDT applies to internal transfers between Card, Payments, and General, in either direction.
Who can add or move funds?
Treasury actions require admin or finance permissions within your Reap organization. If you don't see Treasury or the Move Funds button, ask your organization's administrator to review your role.
