Who this is for: Reap Direct clients sending payments through Reap Pay.
What this article covers: How payment fees are calculated, what you will see on the payment summary, and what affects the total cost of a payment.
Overview
Every payment sent through Reap Pay shows a full cost breakdown before you confirm. You will never be charged without seeing the total first. Fees depend on three factors: the payment route (local or SWIFT), the destination corridor, and whether a currency conversion is needed.

How fees are structured
A payment on Reap Pay can include up to three cost components.
Component |
What it covers |
When it applies |
| Fixed fee | A flat fee based on the payment route and destination | Every payment |
| Variable fee | 0.5% of the payment amount (Reap handling fee) | Every payment for Reap Direct clients |
| FX markup | Applied when the send currency differs from your wallet currency | Cross-currency payments only |
You will see the full breakdown on the payment summary before you confirm. Nothing is charged until you approve.
Local payment fees
Local payments use domestic banking networks within a country or region. They are typically faster and lower cost than SWIFT payments.
- Fixed fee: USD 0 to 5 for most corridors. The exact amount depends on the destination corridor and is shown on the payment summary.
- Variable fee: 0.5% of the payment amount (Reap handling fee).
Reap Pay currently supports local payment routes across corridors in the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. When a local route is available for your recipient, it will appear as an option during the payment flow.
SWIFT payment fees
SWIFT routes payments through the international banking network and is available for all supported currencies and countries.
- Fixed fee: USD 25 per payment.
- Variable fee: 0.5% of the payment amount (Reap handling fee).
About correspondent bank fees
For some SWIFT payments, funds pass through intermediary banks on the way to your recipient. These banks may deduct their own fees before the money arrives, meaning your recipient could receive slightly less than the amount you sent. This is not a Reap fee. If delivering an exact amount matters, use a local payment route where one is available.
Foreign exchange (FX) fees
If the currency you are sending differs from the currency in your wallet, Reap applies an FX markup on top of the market conversion rate. This markup varies by corridor and is shown on the payment summary before you confirm. If you are paying in the same currency as your wallet balance, no FX markup applies.
Where to check fees before you send
All fees are shown on the payment summary screen before you confirm. To see the full cost breakdown:
- Go to Payments and select Create Payment.
- Enter the recipient, amount, and destination currency.
- Select your payment route (local or SWIFT) if both are available.
- Review the payment summary. It shows the fixed fee, the Reap handling fee, and any FX markup.
- Confirm only when you are satisfied with the total.
The payment summary shows a live FX rate, a cross-border fixed fee, and the 0.5% Reap handling fee separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did my recipient receive less than I sent?
For SWIFT payments, funds may pass through intermediary banks before reaching your recipient. These banks sometimes deduct their own fees in transit. This is separate from Reap's fee and cannot be predicted in advance. Using a local payment route avoids this entirely.
Why does the fee look different from what I expected?
Fees vary by corridor and payment route. The payment summary always shows the exact cost for the specific payment you are creating. If the fee looks unusual, compare the local and SWIFT options if both are available, or contact support with your Payment ID.
Where can I find my full fee schedule?
Your full fee schedule is part of your account agreement. Contact your account manager if you need a copy.
Can fees change over time?
Fees may be updated from time to time. The payment summary always reflects the current fee at the time you create the payment. If you have a question about a fee change on your account, contact our support team.
