Product: Reap API (Payment API)
Who this is for: Anyone working in the Payments API dashboard for the first time, and operations teams who need to know where things live.
What you will learn: The two dashboards you work in, how the manager account dashboard is laid out, and what you can see and do inside an individual managed account.
Overview
The Payments API has two dashboards: your own manager account dashboard, and a separate dashboard for each managed account you create.
You use the manager account dashboard to create customer accounts, hold the funds behind them, and control who on your team has access.
Each managed account has its own balances, recipients and API credentials, kept separate from every other account. You create one account per customer, and that customer completes their own verification before it can be used.
The manager account dashboard
The left-hand panel holds the five main sections, all of which operate at manager level:
| Section | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Managed Accounts | The list of accounts you have created, and the way into any individual one |
| Treasury | Your own balances, and the funding pool behind your managed accounts |
| Statements | Downloadable records for reconciliation |
| Team | Who from your organization has access, and what they can do |
| Settings | Configuration for your account |
At the bottom of that panel you will see the entity you are currently signed in as. If you run more than one manager account with Reap, you can switch between them from here.
The managed accounts list
The Managed Accounts section lists every account you have created.
Across the top, tabs filter the list by status and show how many accounts are in each: Active, Invited, Under review, Rejected, and All.
Each row shows the account's name, country, status, and its number of payments awaiting funds. That last column is worth watching, because it tells you at a glance which of your customers have payments held up waiting on money. Any column can be sorted, and you can search the list by name.
Two controls sit at the end of every row. Create payment starts a payment for that account without opening it, and the arrow opens the account itself.
Only an Active account can send payments.
Creating a managed account
You create one managed account for each customer you pay on behalf of, using Create Managed Account at the top of the list. You enter their business name and country of operation, and the dashboard generates a registration link for that customer to complete their own verification.
For the full steps on how to create a managed account, see How do I create a Managed Account?
The managed account dashboard
Opening an account from the list takes you into its own dashboard, with the account name at the top. From there you can switch to another active account, or search for one by name, without going back to the list.
Each managed account carries its own BUUID, shown beneath its name with a copy control. This is the account's unique identifier, and you can search for an account by BUUID as well as by name.
A managed account dashboard has its own tabs. Most accounts have the six below, though an account with additional features enabled may show more.
Overview
The account's balances, held in USDC and USDT, each shown with its amount. Two controls sit on every balance card: Add funds, and a transfer icon for moving money between this account and the Treasury.
Every managed account has completely independent, segregated wallets. Balances are never pooled across your customers.
Below the balances, Balance movements lists recent activity. You can filter it, export it, and select any entry to see its detail.
Payments
Every payment made from this account, with its status. Selecting one opens the full detail:
- The recipient
- The Payment ID (PID) — Reap's unique tracking code for that payment, and what to quote if you contact support about it
- The fee breakdown
- The payment timeline
- Any supporting documents you uploaded
- The tracking status and network identifier
- A proof of payment document, watermarked by Reap, which you can share with your customer
Recipients
The recipients you have saved for this account, meaning the parties you pay from it. Each is listed with its currency, bank country and payment network, so similar recipients are easy to tell apart, and View opens a recipient's full record.
You can add a recipient here in advance, or create one while making a payment. Adding them ahead of time means payment day is a matter of selecting a name rather than re-entering bank details.
Developer
Where your development team generates sandbox and production credentials. Credentials created here are scoped to this managed account, which is what allows API access to be isolated per customer.
By default, a managed account inherits the manager account's API key and IP whitelisting settings. Generate an independent key from this tab when you want this account's access kept separate.
⚠️ IP whitelisting is required to process payments through the API. You can whitelist up to five IP addresses. If you need more than five, contact our support team.
Webhooks are also configured here. Enter your destination URL and select the events you want to be notified about.
Statements
Downloadable records for this account alone, produced one row per calendar month and available as CSV or PDF. Use Generate statement if you need a custom date range rather than a whole month.
Account details
The account's own profile information.
Frequently Asked Questions
My customer's registration link has expired. Can I resend it?
No. The link is unique, expires after seven days, and cannot be generated again. Contact our support team if a link has expired before your customer used it.
Why can't I send a payment from a managed account?
Check the status first. Only an active account can send payments, and an account is not active until your customer has completed registration and verification has finished, which takes hours or days after they submit.
Can my customers' balances be pooled together?
No. Each managed account has completely independent, segregated wallets.
My customer wants proof that a payment was made. What can I send them?
Open the payment in the Payments tab. Its detail view includes a proof of payment document, watermarked by Reap, intended for sharing.
We need to whitelist more than five IP addresses. Is that possible?
Contact our support team. Five is the standard limit configurable from the Developer tab.
How do I refer to a specific payment when contacting support?
Use the Payment ID (PID), shown against the payment in the Payments tab.
